The Micke Grove Zoo Zoom, a 5k Run/Walk and Kid’s Run is scheduled for June 12th at Micke Grove Park. A benefit for Micke Grove Zoo’s Education Department, the family event will include a pancake breakfast, free to all runners, provided by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lodi.
Micke Grove Zoo education and outreach programs reach thousands of school children and families each year. Continuing the popular County-funded programs have been threatened in the current financial climate. Proceeds from the Zoo Zoom will assist in retaining Zoo education program staff and supplies.

Fleet Feet Sports of Stockton and On Your Mark Events are assisting with event organization and promotion.
Also at the Zoo, from May through September, Micke Grove Zoo will be exhibiting “Lorikeets!”, an exhibit featuring over 50 beautifully-colored parrots from Australia and surrounding areas. Zoo visitors can purchase lorikeet “nectar” and feed these inquisitive birds which are uniquely adapted to feed on pollen and soft fruit.
